Additional partnership progression information Pillsbury recruits candidates who possess the talent and traits to become partners. Associates advance to Senior Associate following their fifth year of practice, and then to Counsel after their seventh year. Advancement to each level is based on demonstrated progress against specific criteria, including legal skills, client service and contributions in service to the Firm. Senior Associates and Counsel are eligible for managing credit on client matters in recognition of assuming responsibilities associated with partnership; Senior Associates and Counsel are eligible for billing credit on client matters with written approval by their Local Section Leader, and all attorneys are eligible for originating credit on client matters. A minimum of eight years of practice is required for partnership consideration. In addition to legal expertise in demand by our clients, factors include strength of client relationships, contributions to growing the Firm’s business, Firm citizenship, and leadership in the Firm and community. In 2022, Pillsbury promoted 13 attorneys to partnership. |
