Sidley is committed to providing all personnel, including summer associates, associates and/or other non-partner lawyers, with a work place that is respectful, professional and free of harassment or other misconduct. The firm has formal policies against discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other misconduct. It has had these policies for decades. These polices exceed legal requirements and are enforced. The polices define inappropriate behavior, require persons subjected to such behavior or who have witnessed it or reasonably believe it to be occurring to report the behavior. There are several reporting options and all reports are investigated. Corrective action is taken as may be warranted and retaliation is prohibited. These policies are applicable and available to all personnel in our online staff and lawyer manuals. All firm personnel are required to attend training on these policies annually or biannually. These policies address discrimination, harassment, and other misconduct; explain the processes for reporting suspected violations; establish prohibitions on retaliation for reports made in good faith; and lay out the corrective actions available. |

Sidley was an early signatory to the ABA Lawyer Well-Being Pledge, demonstrating our commitment to fostering a culture of well-being at the firm. We hired our first firmwide Director of Well-Being to guide the firm in our efforts to fulfill this commitment, and to lead the development and continued evolution of our well-being initiatives. Through our Living Well program, we take a holistic approach to proactively supporting the personal health and well-being of our lawyers, our staff and their families across four key dimensions: emotional, physical, social and financial. We offer a growing number of benefits and resources to help our people prioritize and improve their well-being, and provide regular programming around mental health awareness and topics such as resilience, mindfulness, burnout and more. We have also enhanced our programming to include a popular mindfulness app, more resources to support working parents and opportunities to foster social connections. |
