Hours policy details

Associates are expected to record 2,000 “creditable hours” (1,800 in Honolulu), of which 1,950 hours must be billable (1,750 in Honolulu). In addition to hours billed to paying clients, associates also receive credit toward the annual hours requirement for contributions to the Firm consistent with their professional development ("creditable hours"). If the 1,950 billable hour requirement is met, associates are eligible for a maximum of 150 non-billable creditable hours to be included in their creditable hours total. Creditable hours may include approved activities such as pro bono work, observation opportunities, innovation hours, diversity and inclusion activities, and targeted business development efforts. Associates may seek approval for additional pro bono hours over the 150 creditable hour maximum to be counted towards their billable hour requirement.
