We coordinate diversity partnerships/fellowships with clients, offer programming and leadership development opportunities within our Vorys Diversity Network (VDN) and Vorys Women's Network (VWN), participate in programming offered by local and national organizations (i.e. WELD, YWCA, OWBA/OWBF, LCLD, JMLBA, local bar associations, etc.), host internal discussions and client panels, support attorney participation in leadership opportunities within their communities. Vorys is Mansfield Rule certified. The Mansfield Rule measures whether law firms have affirmatively considered at least 30% women, lawyers of color, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, senior lateral positions, and formal client pitch opportunities. The goal of the Mansfield Rule is to improve the representation of diverse lawyers in law firm leadership by broadening the pool of candidates considered for these opportunities. |

https://www.vorys.com/careers-diversity-scholarships-and-fellowships The diversity of our lawyers is a source of strength and pride, both at Vorys and in our communities. We seek to hire law students who reflect the rich diversity of our communities, who prioritize and celebrate learning about different cultures and backgrounds, and who bring diverse experiences to the service of our clients. To build on this goal, the Vorys Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee is pleased to offer the George Corey Memorial Scholarship. EligibilityLaw students who are entering their first summer work experience (typically, following completion of the 1L year, but may be later if studying on a part-time basis) and are enrolled at an ABA accredited law school, who identify as a member of: (1) a historically underrepresented racial/ethnic minority group, and/or (2) the LGBTQ+ community. The candidate must also participate in a full-panel interview and receive and accept an offer for a paid Summer Associate position in the next incoming class to be eligible for the scholarship. Scholarship AmountThe total scholarship is valued up to $15,000. Payment terms of the scholarship are as follows:
Following any scholarship payment, if employment is not started as accepted and expected, scholarship recipients will be required to promptly return the scholarship funds. |

• Vorys Women's Network — The women's network is focused on the development, retention and advancement of women attorneys at Vorys. Each office has formed its own women’s network group under the umbrella of the firm-wide group. The Women's Network hosts an annual Women's Summit and the groups meet collectively on a quarterly basis and cover topics such as career development, client development, networking, mentoring, leadership, and community involvement. • Vorys Diverse Attorney Network is focused on the development, retention and advancement of diverse attorneys at Vorys. Vorys hosts an annual Diversity & Inclusion summit to provide fellowship, development, networking and mentoring opportunities to diverse lawyers and access to firm and community leaders. |
