Comments

Jones Day has a New Lawyers Group instead of a rotation system. The Group was formed in 1982 to provide our newest lawyers with exposure to different practice areas and lawyering styles before making a commitment to a specific practice. All lawyers joining our domestic (and certain non-U.S.) offices from law school become members of the New Lawyers Group for 7-12 months before joining a practice. New Lawyers are evaluated semi-annually.

Like all relationships, we believe it takes some time for an individual to find the best personal fit within the Firm. Exposing new lawyers to a variety of people and practices provides valuable experience, increases their professional networks, and makes for more well-rounded lawyers.
