Starting salary for associates is currently set at $190,000. We pay associates a stipend of 1 month's salary for bar study time. The firm reimburses fees for a bar review course, the Illinois bar exam and the MPRE exam. Additionally, the firm reimburses out-of-town moving expenses.

The firm also participates in the PILI Graduate Fellowship program which provides a stipend to new associates who elect to work with a legal service agency in Illinois while studying for the bar exam.

NGE provides several types of paid leave for new parents.  For primary caregiver parents, including birth mothers and primary caregiver adoptive/foster parents, NGE generally provides a total of eighteen weeks of paid leave.  For other new parents, NGE generally provides a total of six weeks of paid leave.
