Parental leave or family care policy

Does your organization have a written parental leave or family care policy? Yes
Please link to or describe your firm's parental leave policy. Be sure to include information on leave for adoption, surrogacy, or other special circumstances.

ACLs (associates, attorneys, counsel and of counsel) are entitled to 16 weeks of fully-paid parental leave relating to the birth of a newborn or the placement of an adopted child ("birth or placement"). In addition to 16 weeks of fully-paid leave, ACLs are entitled to 8 weeks of unpaid leave relating to birth or placement. ACLs may take parental leave within six months before or after the birth or placement.

To allow for greater flexibility to meet family needs, ACLs may defer up to 8 weeks of the 16 weeks of paid leave beyond the six-month window, so long as the deferred leave is taken consecutively; within 5 years of birth or placement; and while the individual is an ACL.
