What is the impact of working part-time as an associate, if any, on an associate's progression toward partner? |
The firm recognizes that its attorneys have responsibilities beyond their high commitment to the practice of law, their clients and colleagues. The firm appreciates that it may become necessary or desirable for an attorney to seek a work arrangement that is more flexible than the traditional work schedule in order to attend to family or other non-firm related responsibilities. The firm supports alternative arrangements for its attorneys seeking to further their professional or career development or other important personal needs. Associates on an alternative work arrangement can remain on partner track. As a general rule, progression towards partnership status shall not be affected if at the time of the attorney’s consideration for partnership, the cumulative number of hours by which the attorney’s schedule had been reduced during the alternative work schedule period is less than the firm’s standard minimum hours expectation for one year. |
