Please provide a brief description of the program

Launched in January 2019, MVA’s Diversity Scholarship Program is a unique summer employment opportunity for students just finishing their first year in law school. Open to all first-year law students, we evaluate candidates based on their academic performance, communication skills, demonstrated leadership qualities, work experience and community involvement. We also consider students’ life experiences that helped shaped their values and professional goals. Selected students participate in the firms Summer Associate Program and may receive up to $15,000 in total scholarship money.

Women of Moore & Van Allen (WoMVA) 

WoMVA, a subcommittee of the firm’s Diversity Committee, brings together female lawyers at our firm for mentoring, networking and career development opportunities devoted to promoting the interests and progress of women lawyers. WoMVA is led by Financial Services Member Meredith Reedy.
Lawyers of Color (LOC) 

Moore & Van Allen’s Lawyers of Color group focuses on networking, peer-to-peer support, leadership development and mentoring opportunities for attorneys of color. The group works to support the success of its three core goals to: increase cohesiveness among current MVA LOC members; establish networking or development opportunities of benefit to its members; and increase community outreach efforts to the legal community and community at-large. MVA LOC is led by MVA Bankruptcy Member Luis Lluberas and Litigation Associate Nader Raja
